Adobe's Blink AI Tool Transforms Video Editing into Word Processing
Adobe unveiled Project Blink, a video-editing technology that uses artificial intelligence to recognize words, people, objects, and even emotions in a video to speed up editing. The AI analysis essentially transforms video editing into a word processing interface.
Project Blink was unveiled on Wednesday during a "sneaks" session at the company's annual Max conference for photographers, video editors, illustrators, and other creative types. Because Blink is a cloud-based service, you must upload video to use it.
After Blink has processed a video, you can type words to focus on a specific section of the video where they were spoken. A transcript displays the words as well as the speaker's name. You can delete words from the transcript to get rid of words that aren't important, and Blink will change the video to match.
Blink demonstrates how much power and significance AI is claiming in computing. Artificial intelligence systems, which are loosely based on how human brains work, can be trained on real-world data to spot patterns and make far more sophisticated decisions than was previously possible.AI is also being used to improve other Adobe tools such as Lightroom and Photoshop. A new version of Lightroom that came out at MAX can automatically select faces, hair, and eyes to make editing faster when working with people, and Photoshop now has a tool that can remove a distracting part of a photo with just one click.
